Things are changing!

Hello Readers!!

I know, I know... it has been a long time since I seriously wrote on here. Wither it be a review, a book talk, haul or anything else. I know it is no excuse but life has been so horribly busy.
I have been trying to keep up with both of my youtube channels, work, take time for me and my wife and so much more. I am hoping to catch up with you all.
I have a couple of posts that I will be posting within the next couple of weeks just to get up to date with you all.
One thing you can be on the look out for is a review of the new Courtney Summers book coming out called "Sadie". It is going to be coming out on 9-4-2018 so I will have a review of it up on here the day it comes out!

Again I am so sorry that I have been so absent.  I cannot wait to come back and keep up to date with you guys and the book world!

Would you rather? Booktube Edition!

Hey Everyone!!

Thought I would give a little break from the reviews and do some Would you rather...
Make it the Booktube version though :)

If you didn't know I am also a booktuber - go check out my channel and make sure you subscribe!

Would you Rather? Book Edition

1) Read only trilogies or stand-alones?

This one is not that hard for me...I love the trilogies because then the books have enough time to say everything they need to but I would totally pick stand-alones because then I don't have to wait for the new ones to come out or worry about reading 3 books when I can know the whole story in one.

2) Read only female or male authors?

I don't know if I can answer this because it doesn't matter who the author is. Honestly half the time I am reading the book I don't even know if it's a man or a woman until the end and I see their picture.

3) Shop at Barnes & Nobel or Amazon?

This is such an easy question for me. I will go and shop at Barnes & Nobel any day! I would rather go and be able to look around and find so much then have to look up what I want. Yes it can be easier to shop on amazon because it would be in your own home but you would miss out on the experence of going into the store.

4) All books to become movies or tv shows?

This one is really hard!! I love both tv shows and movies and I can see the positive side to both because movies are always amazing but then tv shows go on for months so I would have these amazing shows for a long time. If I had to pick one I would have to pick movies because it seems like the movies come out so much better than the shows.

5) Read 5 pages a day or 5 books a week?

Even though I would love to be able to read 5 books a week I would totally rather only read 5 pages a day so that I could actually retain some of what I'm reading.

6) Be a professional reviewer or an author?

I would rather be a reviewer because I love having conversations with other people about books. I know I could being an author but I wouldn't be out there as much as I would if I was a reviewer. It makes me happy to be able to read a book and talk to people about it.

7) Only read your top 20 books over and over again or only read books you have never read before?

OMG another horrible question that I cannot answer. Even thought I wouldn't be a reader without some of my favorites I would have to say I'd read only new books because I feel like I would get annoyed with only having those 20 books to read.

8) Be a librarian or a bookseller?

Well, I am going back to school to become a librarian so I guess I would have to pick that. But it would be amazing to be a bookseller. I have visions of being Ellen on The Ellen Show because her shop was so cute.

9) Only read your favorite genre or the opposite?

This one is super easy! Of course I would read my favorite genre. If I got the choice why would I ever read something I hate over something I love.

10) Only read hardbacks or only e-readers?

I hate hardbacks....but I hate e-readers so much more. I would totally take hardbacks because then at least it would be a physical book in my hands that won't die like an e-reader.

Biggest Book Terms!

Hey Everyone!!
I thought I would do a fun topic today!

When I started getting into the book world – blogs and booktube channels there were so many different things that I didn’t know. Most of these terms you have to just come across and figure them out for yourself. I thought it would be nice to make a post for you all just in case there is a term or two that you don’t know and wish you did!
Epic Reads is a great company/website that can tell you anything and everything about most books that are coming out or have come out recently. They also have quizzes, blog topics and so much more. So once your done reading some of these cool terms head over to there site and have fun!

Here’s your entry to the book world:
§  Asdfjkl; - This combination of letters can be used when someone needs to express extreme emotions
§  ARC- (advanced readers copy) This is an uncorrected version of a book often mailed to reviewers before it comes out for an honest review of it. You can also call it a galley or proof)
§  Binge read – This is the act of reading large amounts of text in a short time.
§  Book hoarder – This is someone who acquires and stores mass amount of books! [ I guess I have to admit it…I am a full fledged book hoarder! Guess its good to get it off my chest]
§  Book Shelfie – This is when you take a picture of yourself in front of your bookcase. Aka-bookstagram
§  Book Sniffing – This is when people breathe the scent of a book.
§  Dog ear – This is the worst thing you can do to a book! Lol Actually it is the folding of the page of a book in the corner of the page as a bookmark
§  Book Hangover – This is the inability to start a new book because you are still living in the last books world
§  Instalove – This is a literary device that allows characters to quickly fall in love without actually getting to know each other first
§  TBR – “To Be Read” – This is the pile of books you are planning to read, wither it be that month or year or whatever.

Of course there are so many other things that can be on this list but here are the ones that are used the most in the book world!

If you have any you would like to add or think there’s another meaning to one of them please let me know! I love learning more things about this wonderful world!
Hope you guys are enjoying reading!!

Feeling Blue While Reading

Hey Everyone!!

So it's around 5 am here and I can't sleep. All I can do is lay here; listen to my fiance snoring, one of my dogs breathing really loud and the other one having a dream while kicking me.
I was trying to think of some sort of schedule I could do for my YouTube channel - if you don't know this I do YouTube videos about books too... youtube.com/kwells7788. I am really serious about getting back into this even though I only have one friend supporting me.

I don't want to sound negitive because I am trying to get it all out of my life but there are some downsides to coming back to book blogging and vlogging.

1) I am so out of the loop so other than my amazing friend Dylan (youtube.com/dmfriend26), I have no friends on there. It kind of sucks when everyone has been on and going for a while now so they have all their groups and best friends. Ughhh it feels like high school again...

2) I have been off of reading for like ever!! I love reading but for a while I wasn't reading because of the move and being to busy so I am kinda getting back into it. This means that all those really good popular books that everyone has already read and reviewed are the books I am getting out of the library now.
I guess I am just going to be the late person and review books that everyone has already read. Hopefully I can read some newer ones in between or catch up some how.  Wish me luck I guess.

3) My camera has regressed. I used to be super good at editing and making my videos actually look professional but since the move I have to retrain myself how to edit. Also since the move I had to put so much stuff on this computer so there is no room for videos.

I guess life is just hard right now and I don't know if people will still watch and support me when things are going so down hill for me right now.

Guess you all have to look out and see...maybe give me some advice too!

Love you all... see you in the next video

Book Review: Girl Online

Book Review:

Girl Online
By: Zoe Sugg

General Info:

Title: Girl Online
Author: Zoe Sugg
Copyright Date: 2014
Genre:  YA Contemporary
Pages: 344
Price: $17.99
ISBN:  9781476797458

Synopsis: "Penny has a secret. Under the alias Girl Online, Penny blogs her hidden feelings about friendship, boys, high school drama, her quirky family, and the panic attacks that  have begun to take over her life. Wen things go from bad to worse at school, her parents accept an opportunity to whisk the family away for Christmas at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City. There, Penny meets Noah, a gorgeous, guitar-strumming American. Suddenly she is falling in love - and capturing every moment she spends with 'Brooklyn Boy' on her blog. But Noah has a secret, too, one that threatens to ruin Penny's cover - and her closest friendship - forever."

Cover: The cover is very flirty and girly! If you know anything about Zoe Sugg then you would know the look of this book is so like her! The colors really make the book pop off the shelf. I also love the polka dots on the inside covers - its like a hidden surprise. While watching Zoella's YouTube videos you can tell she's very bubbly and hyper; that's basically what her book looks like. The actual hardback cover is just black with the title in silver on the spine - nothing special.

Theme: Much of this book is love or gossip so you would think that there is not really an underlying theme but there is. This book portrays that you should have faith in the person you love. If there is something wrong or something gets said; go to the person/s that said them instead of just going behind  their back.

Point of view: The narration is as the main character Penny. It's kind of like her journal. Zoella has also added some of Penny's blogs throughout the book.

Intended Audience: It's YA contemporary so it is intended towards young girls to maybe mid 20's girls.

Author Style: There is nothing special about the writing in this book other than the blogs put throughout the book. Some of the writing was written as if you already knew things that are popular now. Like I said it's for young and teen girls because it's written for this upcoming generation.
Characters: The main character is Penny; she is your typical teen girl that has lots of drama in her life. It seems like every time she turned around something else was there to disrupt her life. I liked her because she was extremely relatable even though it seemed like she was not really thought out. None of the characters really developed - it was more about the drama than who the characters were.

Plot: Like I said before the characters were not really thought out so the plot had to make up for that. There was a lot going on. It seemed very relatable though. In a normal high school kids life there is drama around every corner and that's how it was in this book. Every time Penny paused or turned around it was something different. It seemed as if I was reading someone's journal. The plot did flow very well and nothing stuck out as being in the wrong place.

Setting: The setting was in two places. Penny was from the UK and then she goes to New York City.

My Opinion: I have many different feelings about this book. I love Zoella and her videos, which made me really want to pick this book up but it really irked me that she didn't  write the book herself. I did really enjoy this book! I love drama and reading about other peoples lives, which is what this book is. I thought it was going to be something totally different but I was pleasantly surprised. I was not so into it that I couldn't put it down but I did have a few moments that were so interesting I had to read it through.
It seems like I am bashing this book because the characters were not thought out, the plot was lacking and it was somewhat dull but I'm not. It was not the most interesting page turner but if you like love stories and drama than this is the book for you!

Score: Image result for 4 out of 5 stars
